USS Texas
USS Texas was born in the Brooklyn Navy Yard in 1912, the second of the New York-class battleships. She was commissioned in March 1914 and spent her early years patrolling the Atlantic and Caribbean. When World War I broke out, Texas joined the British Grand Fleet in 1918, where she played a crucial role in the Battle of Jutland.
